In 1996, we were asked by our distributors to create a rim tape that was American made and price competitive with imported rim strips. Our answer was the
SuperDutE Rim Tape line. We selected a durable polyester fabric; without compromising our stand on rotating weight. The
SuperDutE 16's weigh in at a mere 3.5 grams per wheel. Sure, that is heavy by
Ultralight standards, but the imported tapes and strips tip the scales at 28 grams or more! We never advertised the
SuperDutE tape; it was specced in kits and used as an OE tape. Offered in 3 widths, as single rim strips or pairs. Today, our
SuperDutE tape line is surpassing the
Ultralights in popularity!
